Chapter Five

Harrison tightened his grip on Adrien’s hand, draped a leg over his limbs. If he could, he’d wrap him up forever, would never let anyone hurt him again. His emotions were at the surface, something he rarely dealt with, wasn’t accustomed to handling. The entire evening had been one surprise and shock after the next, ending with the biggest shock of all—Adrien’s declarations of love.

Where did that leave them? He was so used to carefully arranging his life and there was little about Adrien that could be described as careful.

Part of his appeal.

The life, the spirit in Adrien was what made him so special to Harry, he’d always known that. But would that same spirit prevent Adrien from wanting to build a life together? Love was one thing, blending their worlds was another. He’d accept it, though, if that was how it had to be. He’d already been convinced that he’d never have Adrien’s touch, so whatever he could have, he’d take.

Then there were Harrison’s sadistic tendencies. Adrien had readily given in to Harry’s physical demands, but he could be much more demanding—and in a way that might upset Adrien. Of the myriad of sexual romps Adrien had been compelled to describe to him over the years, none had included anything overtly non-vanilla. A random spanking or being tied up with a man’s necktie had been included, but nothing of the more extreme variety that Harrison enjoyed.

Whatever Adrien wants.

And that was the truth of it right there. He’d never sought out a permanent partnership with any of his casual lovers, even the most masochistic ones, and that was for one reason alone. He’d only ever loved Adrien. Whatever satisfaction he got from wielding his whip wasn’t nearly as fulfilling as having Adrien’s love.

“What do we do now, Harry?”

He smiled as he rubbed his nose in Adrien’s hair, inhaling him in. Adrien wanted him to decide things the way he always did, but it was too important of a decision for Harrison to take on a hundred percent. He might be the expert when it came to guiding Adrien’s career, but he’d never dare claim such a title when it came to love.

“We don’t need to figure it all out tonight, Adrien. And this time I’m not going to tell you what to do either. We’ll decide together.” Harrison squeezed him around the middle. “I love you. That won’t change tomorrow or next year or ever. However we go forward as a couple, you’ll always have that no matter what.”

“Ditto.” Adrien dropped a kiss on Harrison’s knuckles. “Will you spend the night with me tonight, though? Can we start with that?”

There was an almost childlike quality to Adrien’s tone. Harrison had only ever heard him use it when he was at his most worried.

“It would be my pleasure. Now sleep, Adrien. I’ll take you to brunch at the Four Seasons tomorrow.”

“Mmm. I love their brunch.” Adrien groaned. “But no mimosas. I don’t think I can handle anymore liquor for a while.
